Aging Fabulous

Good-Bye Cellulite from Nivea.

by Teri on June 12th, 2008

We all have it, ladies. Cellulite. No matter what our age or weight, most of us suffer from this dimpled affect some where. Whether it be on our upper legs, buttocks, abdomen, or even arms, it is ugly. And it is something that mainly affects only women - so that is why I called it out as such

I could go into detail about what cellulite is, but really who cares. I know that you want to know how to minimize the appearance of cellulite, right? Well, the main way to reducing it’s ugliness is with L-Carnitine. Now, L-Carnitine is naturally present in the skin and it is one that helps to metabolize the conversion of fat components into energy under our skin. So, adding in more L-Carnitine is a good thing.

How do we do this? Well, we can topically apply L-Carnitine to the skin.

Two of the best products that I have found to do specifically this are both by Nivea. One is the NIVEA Good-bye Cellulite Gel-Cream and the other is NIVEA Good-bye Cellulite Patches.

The Gel-Cream is a cooling cream that actually cools the skin as you massage it in. This actually helps as it brings more blood circulation to the skin to help it repair and get some of that cellulite broken up.

The Patches are just that. Patches that you apply to your problem areas that give off a continuous release of L-Carnitine.

I have been using the Patches at night while I sleep a few times a week, and I use the Gel-Cream after I shower, before dressing. After just a few applications of doing so, I can feel that my skin is smoother and it actually looks more toned. I will continue to use the rest of the cream (I have to pick up more of the patches) and hope for an even more noticeable improvement over time.

Both the NIVEA Good-bye Cellulite Gel-Cream and Patches (a box of 6) are available at drugstores and mass merchandisers nationwide for $12.99 each.

I believe in the Nivea products, however, after purchasing approximately 30.00 worth of product, I was disappointed to find that the instructions were vague and incomplete. There was no “instructions” in either the box with the patches or the gel. I have no idea how long to leave the patches on, if its ok to cut the patches to use on smaller areas, etc. With there only being 6 patches in a box, and the directions saying to use them 2-3 times a week, I will need approximately 6 boxes per month (of each item), at minimum at a cost of 13.00 per box, with a retail cost of approximately 160.00 - 240.00. Financially speaking, this is not logical. Is there a better way?

I wish I still had my box so I could help you out more Charlie. Did you check the Nivea website for possible information.

Also, it is expensive. The only thing that I can say is that if it works for you, then it would be worth it in the long run. Maybe that would make it make more sense for you?

    Hi Teri
thanks so much! Yea.. I paid 140.00 for a cellulite reduction wrap and it did NOTHING. I had people coming in town, and wanted to lose a couple of inches (im not a big girl, so I didn’t expect much), but my jeans were still tight, and the cellulite was still very visible. I have the boxes, but it doesnt say how long to leave it on. I found some information on another website, not Nivea’s.. I could find nothing there.. that stated you could leave it on for up to 8 hours. Not sure if thats accurate, but im gonna go by that. Ive also decided to trim the patches, to make them go farther, and just hit the problem areas. Its only bad on the backs of my legs. So I should do ok, just targeting that, and my buttocks. Again, thank you for your insight.
