Victoria Beckham: I Hate your Hair.

by Teri on August 29th, 2007

If you have an angled bob hairstyle, please forgive me. I just do not find this hairstyle flattering at all. In fact, I hate the angled bob hairstyle.

v_b

Starting with Victoria Beckham and now appearing on everyday stay at home Moms, this angled bob is everywhere - and everywhere is too much for me.

Not many people can pull of this look. If your face has a strong jaw line, this look is not for you. If you have a very long face, this angled bob will make your face look longer. And if you have a round or chubby face whatsoever, don’t even try this hairstyle. And it doesn’t look well on most women over 30!

Boy, I have been in a ranting mood lately! What do you think?

He hee! I am glad to see this. Recently I was discussing with my readers what I should do with my (prematurely gray) hair. One suggested the graduated bob, even sending me a picture of Victoria Beckham. Happily for my hair stylist, I cannot abide looking like everyone else, and went for something else.

OK, in all fairness, I was suggesting the cut for two reasons:

    1. It would look good on Rebecca.
    2. It addresses this point: http://www.agingfabulous.com/does-gray-hair-make-you-look-old/

Well, I’ve done this haircut off and on for about 10 years, so I’ll have to come out in favor of it :-)
    Two thumbs up! :-))

i don’t think the color suits her for starters..and I am not a fan of bob cuts but I really like how it looks on Rihanna is this style:

I think she should go for this instead:

Seriously, I still don’t like her hair in the photo above. It looks much better grown out some and her more natural honey brown shade.

I’m not a massive fan of the angled bob either. I think it’s a bit too harsh and rigid a hairdo for most women to be able to pull off. - I’m a much bigger fan of hair being, well, flowy.

you girls obviously are out of touch with new styles….women are more likely to be remembered with hair cuts like these….almost 80% of women have long highlighted hair…why wouldnt you want to stand out, and yes i do like her hair darker but this cut is amazing..plain and simple.

I would not say that we are out of touch, this style is just very hard to pull off. If you don’t have a long thin neck, or maybe square jaw, then this cut will just not look right on you. And I see way too many women, of all ages, with this cut - and it is just not right for them.

I have very fine hair and have always been looking for a cut to make my hair have somewhat of a style. I always wanted to have long hair, but realized it is not going to work for me. I have this angled bob cut and for the first time in my life I actually like my hair. It works for me.

HAHA I ended up on this site while looking for photos of Victoria Beckham’s hair. I have a hair appointment in an hour and I need to remind the stylist how I like it cut. I’ve worn it like this for 2 months and I get complete strangers complimenting me on the cut. They’ve said it’s the perfect cut for my face build. But hey, everyone is different.

angled bob is another mass phenomenon…women think that it looks “flattering” and “sexy” on them, because victoria beckham (who have one of the most expensive hairstylists) cut her hair like this… on the other hand many people don’t want to stand out. the reason they choose this haircut (even though it looks horrible on them) is because they want to be accepted. there is also something like hairdressers’ propaganda. they want to earn more and more money,so they persuade their customers to choose this “amazing cut”. personally i feel much better with haircut which looks good on me and also with clothes which suit my own body. my motto is: “if you want to look better, be yourself”

I have had the angled bob cut for YEARS before Victoria had it! Since I was a senior in high school! I think that it is sexy and fun and not becuase some celebrity has it!

I am an artist, and a person who had a full service salon for years. There are so many variations of the angled bob, and I think it is a timeless, chic, and sophisticated look. It takes a very self assured woman to wear this style. Bottom line is if you feel beautiful in it, you will be beautiful in it. I have worn my hair very short and long, angled and regular bobs, and I’ve gotten compliments. I am also 46, with salt and pepper hair, looking for a layered bob cut for the new year.

I think I’ll go for this cut. It look very modern and sleek and sophisticated. But as you (Terri) mentioned, I have quite chubby cheeks and I don’t know if this will work. :(

    What do you think?

Welll guess what ladiies… ii have this hairstyle now and as i previously mentioned i am QUITE chubbyy but it makes me look SO MUCH SLIMMER i think only people with EXTREMELY CHUBBY FACES like oprah cant pull it off.

I have to disagree with the idea that it doesnt work for people over 30. I am well over 30 & I love this cut on me & I get SO MANY comments on how they love my hair & how it looks beautiful on me. I also have a bit of a round chubby face & I think it looks great on this type of face because it will make your face seem a bit longer & thinner because it will cut down the sides to make your face look thinner. As for a longer oval face, I dont think it is the right style. I am a hairstylist & have done thins cut on so many people & I really havent found too many that didnt wear it well. I especially love it on little girls. It just looks darling!

iv had this haircut since september last year. i just want to say that people who have this hair cut dont get it to look like vb, i know i didnt. i had it becasue i wanted a change. i used to have long hair with layers as short as the length is now. my layers used to fall forward when i put it up and tbh my hair looked nicer that way than when it was long. also my sister, whos 8, has a similar hairstyle and she looks her age now rather than 5 like she did before.

I think the hairstyle looks good on Victoria however the colour isn’t very flattering. Brown and honey colours DEFINATELY suit her more…!
Overall i like the haircut, if you put it on the right face it should look good!

i personally think that this hairstyle works as a great compromise between long and short hair - it still frames your face, like long hair, but is less of a hassle, like short hair. i’m in for a change and, as i’ve worn my hair long for most of my life, this is the perfect cut - not as drastic as completely short hair, but still a noticeable change.
the reason many people don’t like it on victoria beckham is because a lot of people dislike victoria beckham (e.g. me=)), but it looked great on rihanna, for example.
