Aging Fabulous - This is when the fun starts!

The Use of Soap on Your Face

by SPBragg on February 5th, 2006

bar soapIt is so important to choose the right soap for your face… at any age, but as the skin is aging, it needs even more help. It can’t replace the natural oils quite as fast as it used to, so we need to make sure that we aren’t stripping all of it off every time we wash it.

If you like a bar of soap, I have talked about the Clinique bars in the past and it is my all time favorite! I still can’t believe that one bar will last a year plus, but it really will. Can’t say that about most other bars. But it is the body bars that I want you to stay away from.

But don’t forget that if you have been wearing makeup, you are going to need something that can remove all of the makeup, but will leave some oil behind. The Clinique bar isn’t formulated for makeup removal . That’s where creamy cleansers come in. I use one by Dove and it seems to do a good job. So how do I know that it does a good job? I finish off with a cotton ball soaked with toner. If makeup shows up on my cotton ball, I know that the cleanser didn’t do it’s job and it’s time for a replacement.

Some women hate this time of day, but believe it or not, I actually enjoy the time just before I go to bed to cleanse my skin. It’s the perfect time to unwind!
