What did your mom teach you?

If You Don't Have Big Breasts, Put Ribbons on Your Pigtails: And Other Lessons I Learned from My MomThat’s today’s question. We all know that moms are notoriously amazing, so as you were growing up, what was one piece of advice she handed to you?

Okay, lets not leave Dad out. I’m sure that he had some advice to hand out while you were growing up. Is anything coming to mind??

The one thing I remember best is about learning. She said, “You don’t need to know everything; you just need to know how to find it out.”

My mom was not one for advise. But grandmaw said to a sister in law one time (in reference to sex) ‘IF YOU HAVE TO TALK ABOUT IT TO MAKE IT INTO SOMETHING, IT MUST NOT BE GOOD ENOUGH’
Yelp grandmaw told it like it was.

Here is a funny you may not have counted on… when I glanced at your past post the side bar reads

    I feel like crap

Mine taught me so much i couldnt narrow it down to just one thing. the best “living by example” advice was her reading anything she could get her hands on.

I honestly can’t think of advice my Mom gave me.

Now I’ll be ponering this for the rest of the day, because surely she did…!

    Plenty!

~To turn off the TV if it’s not a rainy day.
~To read lots of non-fiction…& keep an open mind & an eye for bias when reading about history…
~To use as little makeup as possible
~That family is more important than peer pressure.
~That style is more important & more flattering than fashion.
~That there is nothing more important than the truth. She never lies.
~To give away things as gifts, as much as possible. Most of her shopping [and she is brilliant at finding beautiful things] ends up as gifts.
