When Things Don’t Go As Planned…
I had my day planned, and I knew something was up when I woke up to snow plows going down my road.
At first I thought maybe it was a test run. Nope. No such luck. It was snowing, and we already had an inch on the ground. The leaf guy was coming to pick up some of the leaves today, but seeing as my trees are mostly still green (notice the green leaves in my pic) and that I have many more leaves still left to fall, I guess that is okay. I wonder how the pretty mum’s will survive?
I did a few of the things I needed to do, then I made my son a grilled cheese when he got home from school. I wondered why the second side is not cooking. I thought that maybe a circuit breaker was tripped. Checked, and double-checked. Nope, not an electrical problem. But the whole cooktop was out. The cooktop that has only been in my kitchen for about 7 months now. Lovely. And Thanksgiving is two days away, and I am cooking. Ooh…. My day was definitely not getting any better. Thank goodness that the woman at the appliance store was very understanding, and a technician will be out tomorrow. As long as it is a simple problem, I should have my cooktop working to cook on Thursday. But now, I have to wait around all day tomorrow - ugh.
Well, things happen in threes, right? So, what else should I have expected when I run through Starbucks drive thru only to have the server lean out to my car and spill hot coffee all over my NEW FUR COAT. The coat I have had for less than a week. And the kicker is I hate coffee. I hate the smell of coffee, I was just picking up a coffee for a friend on my way to drop something off for her. Maybe next time, I shouldn’t be so nice. We’ll see what the manager wants to do about my coat. It was an accident, I know. But it somehow needs to be cleaned/fixed/remedied - whatever.
I was supposed to go over and visit with some friends tonight, but I am just not in the mood and really have too much to finish up around here. Plus, the roads are icy, and I really don’t need any other kind of incident today.
Maybe I should just call it night and go. to. bed. !!!

That is awful. I hate the smell of coffee also and when it spills on something it is hard to get the smell out. I’m sure starbucks will take care of it make sure it is to your satisfaction. Now it is time for you holidays to get better, I’m sure they will. Happy Thanksgiving and good luck with everything.

Lori - I am still waiting to hear from Starbucks. I wasn’t going to bother them too much being as it was a Holiday - but I am going to stop in today to see what (if any) solution has been come up with.
